23 Easy Ways To Organize Gift Wrap Supplies
I love beautifully wrapped gifts but know how challenging organizing and storing gift wrap supplies can be. Bows are delicate, gift wrap rolls are awkward and tear, ribbon unwinds, and gift bags get crumpled and tangled. It can all end up an unruly mess!
But it doesn’t have too! No matter your space or budget, I promise you can tame all your gift-wrapping materials! Read on for 24 of my favourite ways to store all your gift wrap and accessories that keep everything contained and organized.
How To Stop Gift Wrap Rolls From Unravelling
Gift wrap rolls are long, awkward and tend to unwind and tear, so let’s address this pesky problem first.
For a free option, cut a slit in a toilet paper roll and use it as a cuff.
A couple of easy and budget-friendly methods to stop this from happening are to use inexpensive cord ties or, my favourite method, slap bracelets. Yes, the same slap bracelets from your youth work great to keep gift wrap rolls wrapped up!
Easy Ways to Store & Organize Gift Wrap Rolls
Now that we’ve taken care of that problem, let’s go over some ways to store gift wrap. With these long and narrow rolls, proper containment is key.
A great budget and space saving option is to use tension rods in the recessed side of a closet. The gift wrap is neatly contained, the upright storage creates easy visibility and accessibility, and you can still use the space above to hang clothes.
Other options to create upright storage and easy visibility and accessibility include a basket, laundry hamper or even a wastepaper basket.
Finally, if you’ve got vertical space you can take advantage of, I love this storage idea using the very affordable Ikea Variera Plastic Bag Dispenser.
Easy Ways to Store & Organize Gift Bags & Boxes
One of my favourite ways to organize and store gift bags and boxes is vertically in a basket. You can easily see how many you have and quickly find and grab the one you want without having to sort through piles.
Another great and affordable option is on a shelf with a bakeware rack.
For small to medium bags and boxes, magazine holders are a fast and easy solution.
Lastly, Command Hooks are a great way to store gift bags that take advantage of vertical space. Pro tip: if you have the space, use 2-4 hooks and hang bags by size.
